I have a little knitting vlog for you today, so grab your knitting and some coffee or tea and get cozy! This compiles a couple different days of knitting, and some of it is in one of our beautiful local libraries – I took my knitting along to have something to do while my kids were taking a class. We have 2 dogs and 2 cats (1 of which is a kitten who loves breaking the yarn in my projects), so you’ll be seeing them in videos like this.
The whole reason I decided to film this vlog is to help get myself out of my first ever knitting slump. I attribute some of it to the fact that aside from knitting and crafting, I’m a busy homeschooling mom to 3, so I’ve always got things going on keeping me on my toes.
After I knit a bunch of Musselburgh hats this spring, I just didn’t feel like knitting much at all. But at the same time, I found myself missing my needles! It was really a strange place to be.
Have you ever felt like that? How long did your knitting slump last? Did any certain project help you get to the other side and back into knitting often?
To help pull myself out of this slump, I decided to do a couple things – first, to record my first knitting vlog which turned out to be like medicine for me, and 2nd – to start participating in the 30 minutes of knitting hashtag over on Instagram and posting that each morning in my stories. If you’d like to follow along or join in, come on over and follow me on Instagram.
I’ve challenged myself to post what I’m knitting each morning. I’m an early riser, and starting my day with 30 minutes of knitting is a great way to wake my brain up before diving into anything too serious.
Projects I worked on in the vlog:
I hope you find the vlog to be relaxing.
